Whether Chrolohyll important for plant to photosynthesis

Title:whether chlorophyll will affect plants to photosynthesis
Aim:To find out whether chlorophyll is necessary for photosynthesis.
Hypothesis:Plants need chlorophyll for photosynthesis.
To find out whether chlorophyll is needed for plants to photosynthesis.I will take two different colour of leaves for the test.one of the leaf being a green leaf and another being another type of leaf that does not contain chlorophyll . As one of the plant went through photosynthesis. When I add the iodine solution to it. It will turn into dark black to show that starch is present and photosynthesis has taken place. The relationship between both leaves is that if both plant turn into dark black it shows that chlorophyll is not necessary for plants to photosynthesis. However if only the green leaf turn into dark black, it shows that chlorophyll is needed for photosynthesis to take place.
The independent variables are the two different collies of leaves And dependent variables are whether the leaves will turn black. For the experiment to be a fair test I will take both leaf from the same plant but different part of it. And I will boil both leaf together.
Procedure:
Step 1:Prepare a hot water bath
Step 2:Boil 1 leaf in hot water about 2-3 minutes.
Step 3:After boiling the leafdry it.

Step 4:Place the leaves on a white tile and drop few drop of iodine solution into both leaves.

Step 5:Take a new green leaf out and put both leaf until den light for photosynthesis 10mins

Step 6:Record down the result. Whether both leaves turn dark blue or only green leaf.
Materials:
1 boiling tube1 beaker1 tripod stand 1 lighter 2 leaf from the same plant but different part 1 iodine solution and 1 Bunsen burner and teat tube holder 1 piece of white tile.

RESULT:

The iodine solution in the boiled leaf does not change it's colour and remain yellow, but the iodine solution in the green leaf change it's colour to dark blue.

Conclusion:
Plant needs chlorophyll to photosynthesis.because when plant loss it's chrolophyll in boiled it cannot photosynthesis.

Similarities and differences of photosynthesis and respiration.

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants take in the elements sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to produce food for the producer. The substances released from the caused reaction are oxygen and sugar. Sugar can also be put as the term glucose. Cellular respiration is basically the opposite Cellular respiration can be used by a producer as well as a consumer to make food and energy. In this, the consumer or producer take in both oxygen and glucose, and the substances released from the reaction are carbon dioxide and water.

Photosynthesis in the Dark

1.Can plants photosynthesis without sunlight?

No.Because chlorophyll is the molecule which orchestrates the coming together of light and water and CO2 to make sugars.Without it nothing would happen.Light is the energy source which allows high-energy molecules like sugar to be built from low energy molecules like water and carbon dioxide.Without the energy source nothing would happen.

2.How do deep sea plants survive?

They don't undergo the photosynthesis cycle unlike other plants because of the absence of light. They survive entirely absorbing nutrients present in the soil. The soil is very rich in nutrients because all dead fish settles on the deep ocean floor.

3.How did Photosynthesize happen in Green Sea Slug?

A green sea slug appears to be half animal and half plant. It's the first critter discovered to produce the plant pigment chlorophyll. The slugs have stolen the genes that enable genes from algae that they had eaten. With their contraband genes, the slugs can carry out photosynthesis the process which plants use to convert sunlight into energy. They can make their energy containing molecules without having to eat anything. In addition to burglarizing the genes needed to make the green pigment chlorophyll, the slugs also steal tiny cell parts called chloroplasts, which they use to conduct photosynthesis. The chloroplasts use the chlorophyll to convert sunlight into energy, just as plants do.

Here are some green sea slug pictures.
